Cryosurgery in Kraków Kraków

What is Cryosurgery?
Cryosurgery is a treatment method involving the local, controlled destruction of tissue through freezing, most commonly using nitrous oxide. This allows for bloodless removal of diseased tissue and healing without complications. After freezing, the destroyed tissue separates naturally (demarcation), and the skin regenerates properly without fibrosis or tissue loss. The resulting scar is flexible and collagen-free.
What skin lesions can be removed with cryosurgery?
Cryosurgery is used to treat a variety of skin lesions, including: Warts (common, flat, viral) – one of the most effective removal methods. Fibromas – effectively removed with cryosurgery.
The advantage of this method is that it usually does not require anesthesia and is generally painless. During the procedure, patients typically feel cold, mild burning, or itching. The procedure is quick. During the thawing phase, a slight pain may occur but usually passes quickly.
The technique destroys tissue without the need to cut it out (the skin remains intact), avoiding many of the inconveniences of traditional surgery. The risk of secondary infections is also greatly reduced.
Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen – a condensed gas at -196°C – to freeze and remove lesions. This method offers excellent cosmetic outcomes that are often difficult to achieve with other techniques. In dermatology, cryosurgery not only removes lesions but also stimulates an autoimmune response – several weeks after treatment, distant lesions of the same type may shrink or disappear.
